Job summary

Hoffman Construction seeks an Operational Controller to report to the CFO and oversee financial operations across self-perform entities and equipment yard. The role drives accounting integrity and financial discipline.

Based in Lake Oswego, OR, you will standardize practices, lead project accounting, and partner with operations to improve performance, forecasting, and forecasting clarity. Competitive compensation aligns with the responsibilities and market standards.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressively responsible financial and accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• CPA license preferred but not required.
• Strong demonstrated knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience with project accounting, job costing, forecasting, cost-to-complete analysis, revenue and margin analysis, and project financial controls.
• Experience developing and improving financial processes, internal controls, and operating procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership for five self-perform operating entities and equipment yard operations.
• Establish, standardize, and improve financial practices across self-perform entities.
• Lead the Project Accounting function including staffing, development, and performance management.
• Develop and maintain project financial controls and reporting standards for timely, accurate information.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and performance reviews for self-perform entities.
• Support Corporate Accounting in job profit forecasts and revenue recognition considerations.
• Coach project managers on financial management and use of accounting systems.
• Perform ad hoc financial analyses and special projects to support operations.
