Michael Kinder & Sons, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant to support financial operations for a design-build construction firm in Fort Wayne, IN.

The role focuses on month-end close, job costing, WIP reporting, subcontractor accounting, and project financial analysis. The position involves accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements preparation, with potential for growth within a collaborative, values-driven team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related business field preferred.
• Associate degree in Accounting or relevant accounting experience may be considered.
• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, payroll or related financial work (2 years).
• Proficiency with accounting software and MS Office is expected.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and post monthly journal entries.
• Perform bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Support preparation of financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor job cost accounting and review project costs for accuracy.
• Assist with owner billings, progress billings, and collections.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and assist with audits and tax filings.
