Job summary

W.E. O’Neil Construction is seeking a Project Accountant in Chicago, IL to support project financials and operations.

You will handle pay applications, subcontractor invoicing, and comprehensive documentation while collaborating with National Accounting and Operations teams. The role requires strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to manage multiple priorities within CMiC and Textura workflows.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in construction or project-based accounting.
• Strong understanding of job costing, subcontractor billing, and compliance documentation.
• High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial data.
• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in CMiC, Textura, Box, and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage Textura setup for new projects and create initial SOV with Project Manager.
• Prepare owner pay applications and adjust budgets within the SOV.
• Coordinate subcontractor invoices, approvals, and draw invitations.
• Coordinate tax-exempt documentation and lien waivers.
• Maintain CMiC records, month-end close deadlines, and audit support.
• Assist with project kickoff/close-out checklists and disputes resolution.
