Job summary

ROMA Scaffolding in Long Island City, NY, seeks an experienced Project Accountant to manage accounting for multiple construction projects and ensure contract compliance. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of NYC construction experience and is proficient with certified payroll and union reporting.

The role involves collaborating with project managers, estimators, and field personnel to deliver accurate financial reporting, monitor costs, and support audits for prevailing wage and public contracts.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years of project accounting experience in NYC construction.
• Experience preparing and managing certified payroll.
• Strong knowledge of prevailing wage regulations.
• Experience with NYC public agencies, contract compliance and reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage project accounting for multiple construction projects.
• Prepare, review and submit certified payroll reports per wage requirements.
• Process and reconcile union payroll, union benefits, and remittances.
• Monitor costs, budgets, commitments and job profitability.
• Prepare monthly project cost reports and WIP schedules.
• Review subcontractor invoices, lien waivers, and compliance documents.
• Assist with AIA billing and requisition preparation.
• Track change orders, purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
• Ensure NYC public agency compliance on contracts.
• Coordinate audits for prevailing wage, payroll, and public contracts.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Maintain accurate project records and accounting documentation.
• Collaborate with project teams to analyze financial performance and identify cost-saving opportunities.
