Job summary

TW Constructors in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Project Accountant to maintain accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job cost systems. You will support project teams by answering invoice status inquiries and providing insight into job cost reports.

The role requires strong time management and coordination with subcontractors to ensure timely invoicing. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of accounting experience in a GC/Subcontractor environment, proficiency with Excel and GAAP, and effective

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent knowledge; working toward a BS/BA in Accounting preferred
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience, preferably with a General Contractor or Subcontractor
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, other Microsoft Office applications, and Google Sheets
• Strong communication, organizational skills with attention to detail
• Experience with Computer Ease is a plus

Responsibilities

• Receive, code, and route invoices for appropriate approval
• Enter approved invoices into the accounting system with accurate coding
• Review vendor records and statements; investigate and resolve billing or payment discrepancies
• Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries
• Assist with 1099 forms and GAAP compliance
• Collect and maintain W-9 forms for all vendors
• Organize and manage open/paid accounts payable files
• Monitor subcontractor records in the accounting system
• Verify billings do not exceed contract limits or change orders
• Proactively request invoices from subcontractors and vendors as needed
• Prepare and distribute customer invoices with AIA docs and schedules
• Process invoices through DataServ and Textura
• Generate AR aging reports and collections summaries
• Submit invoices with required documentation per owner contracts
• Record invoices in the accounting system and third-party software
• Forward contracts/subcontracts to legal for review
• Prepare subcontracts and purchase orders for Project Manager
• Ensure subcontractors receive proper documentation
• Assist with CCIP setup and management
• Support month/year-end close for AP/AR
• Maintain audit-ready financial records and internal controls
• Collaborate to improve efficiency and reporting
• Travel may be required for nationwide projects
