Job summary

CFS is a well-established construction firm in Colorado seeking a Project Accountant to own the financial lifecycle of multiple projects. You will partner with Project Managers to code budgets, process billing, and ensure contract compliance.

You’ll prepare pay apps, manage SOVs and WIP schedules, monitor budgets, and perform detailed cost analysis to drive profitability. The role offers growth in a collaborative, team-oriented culture with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

3+ years of construction project accounting experience on commercial projects.
Experience with lien waivers, pay applications, SOVs, WIP schedules, and job costing.
Ability to support multiple project managers concurrently.

Responsibilities

Manage the complete accounting lifecycle for multiple construction projects.
Set up new jobs within the accounting system with proper coding, budgets, and contract documentation.
Review owner contracts for billing requirements, retainage, change orders, payment terms, and compliance obligations.
Prepare, review, and submit owner billings including: Progress Billings, Time & Materials, Cost Plus, Percentage of Completion.
Prepare and manage pay applications in accordance with contractual requirements.
Maintain SOVs throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain accurate Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules for month-end reporting and forecasting.
Monitor project budgets and perform detailed job costing analyses to identify variances and profitability trends.
Review project costs, committed costs, invoices, and change orders for accuracy.
Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor financial performance and profitability.
