Job summary

High-Light Electric in Las Vegas is expanding into Nevada and seeks a Construction Project Accounting Specialist. This hands-on role focuses on job-cost records, invoices, AP/AR data, and reconciliations to keep project costs accurate and organized.

You will work with Project Management, Operations, and Finance to support month-end processes, maintain audit-ready files, and ensure compliance with public works reporting where applicable.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial records.
• Demonstrated ability to follow established procedures and meet deadlines.
• Experience with construction accounting concepts is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day project accounting activities including job-cost tracking and billing support.
• Enter and maintain vendor, subcontractor, purchase orders, expense, payroll-related, and project accounting information.
• Assist with job-cost coding, cost transfers, labor allocation, equipment charges, subcontractor costs, and reconciliations.
• Review documentation for missing information, duplicates, coding errors, inconsistencies, and escalate questions as needed.
• Maintain audit-ready project files, accounting records, lien releases, and compliance documents.
• Assist with month-end processes by gathering documentation, updating reports, reconciling items, and validating data.
• Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, cost summaries, reports, schedules, and backups.
• Use Vista, Procore, Excel, and internal systems to enter information and run routine reports.
• Assist with public works accounting documentation including certified payroll and prevailing wage records.
