Hooper is seeking an entry-level accounting assistant to join the Electric Power Division. You will support general accounting tasks, handle job cost analysis, invoicing, and time processing as part of a tight-knit team.

This role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and collaboration with project managers. Ideal candidates have at least a 2-year accounting-related degree and one year of experience, with proficiency in spreadsheets and document proofreading.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of accounting experience.
• Minimum 2-year college degree in Accounting or similar background.
• Ability to read maps and communicate directions accurately.
• Proficiency in spreadsheet software for reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform underground utility locates with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Provide backup support to bid management and related tasks.
• Process weekly payroll time and equipment review.
• Prepare and reconcile invoicing, verify job costs, and track billable hours.
• Set up jobs in COINS with correct data and billing rates.
• Review purchase orders and distribute to project management and accounting teams.
• Track and report project financial performance including hours, costs, revenue, margins.
• Allocate fuel charges to projects.
