Job summary

Hooper, an established electric power and mechanical contractor, seeks an accounting/administrative professional to join the Electric Power Division. You will perform general accounting tasks, payroll time processing, invoicing, and cost analysis, supporting project accounting and financial reporting.

The role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail, and teamwork in a normal office environment. A 2-year accounting degree and at least 1 year of accounting experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least 1 year of accounting experience preferred.
• Education: Minimum 2-year college degree in Accounting or similar background.
• Proven ability to proofread documents and prepare reports.
• Technical: proficient in spreadsheet software applications.

Responsibilities

• Works with a small team to provide underground utility locates for job sites. Requires exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Serve as backup to the department bid manager and cover for absences.
• Responsible for weekly divisional payroll time and equipment review and processing.
• Performs weekly and monthly customer invoicing, verifies job costs, and reconciles billable hours with payroll and equipment hours.
• Set up jobs in COINS, ensuring customer information and billing data are correct.
• Review customer purchase orders daily and distribute them to project management and accounting personnel.
• Assist with tracking and reporting of project financial performance including hours, costs, revenue, and margins.
• Allocate fuel charges to appropriate projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
