Job summary

DAVIS Construction is seeking a Project Accountant to support project cost and payment records and assist operations with financial details.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 2–4 years of accounting experience, and CMiC proficiency. Public accounting background is a plus, with strong GAAP knowledge and Excel skills. The company emphasizes autonomy and impact within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent years of relevant experience
• Two (2) to four (4) years of Accounting experience
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Construction industry experience a plus
• Decision making, research and analytical problem-solving skills
• Time management skills with the ability to organize, assess and prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands
• Ability to work independently
• CMiC software experience a plus
• Able to quickly learn and understand new software and systems

Responsibilities

• Independently updates existing account reconciliation and analysis templates (over / under billing, closeout reports, negative cash, prepaids, accruals)
• Efficiently produces work deliverables in CMiC
• Applies general knowledge of GAAP developed through education or experience to correctly record accruals, prepaids, over / under billing adjustments
• Reviews, validates, and analyzes CMiC reporting (PSRs / Invoices to be posted, expense reimbursements, GL account balances)
• Creates accurate schedules and submits to Management
• Applies general knowledge of excel to update recurring or ad hoc excel schedules
