M. J. Electric, LLC is seeking a knowledgeable Project Accountant to manage financials for construction projects and provide accounting support to operations. The role emphasizes accurate cost tracking, budgeting, and timely reporting within a growing company.

The ideal candidate will bring GAAP expertise, strong analytics, and collaboration with project managers to ensure integrity of project financials. A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in construction finance are preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and data collection for project accounting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with project teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and JDE for financial processing.
• Ability to analyze data and solve complex problems with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance is required.
• 3+ years of financial experience in a construction environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the financial health of specific projects by tracking costs, budgets, and variances.
• Collaborate with project managers to provide financial guidance and support.
• Analyze monthly project forecast reports for reasonableness.
• Investigate revenue and profit variances for accurate reporting.
• Oversee input of contracts, budgets, change orders, and POs into JDE.
• Process and track invoices, payments, and change orders.
• Ensure compliance with contract terms and billing schedules.
• Monitor Accounts Receivable aging and assist with past due invoices.
• Coordinate weekly craft employee time submissions for accuracy.
• Assist Project Controller with forecast entries and variance explanations.
