Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day field operations across security, fire alarm, fire suppression, and BAS scopes.
• Lead installation and commissioning activities across project sites, ensuring code compliance and quality.
• Develop and maintain integrated program schedules, identifying critical paths and resolving conflicts.
• Provide regular status updates, risks, and mitigation plans to the client.
• Coordinate scopes across internal divisions and subcontractors for aligned sequencing.
• Compile and deliver consolidated program reporting to leadership and client stakeholders.
• Serve as technical escalation point for field teams and support troubleshooting.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify progress and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with general contractors, AHJs, inspectors for permitting and testing.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies; support closeout activities and punch lists.
• Travel nationwide as needed to support projects.

Job Description

Job Summary: The Security and Life Safety Construction Program Manager oversees the day-to-day execution of security, fire alarm, fire suppression, and building automation system (BAS) scopes for a Core Business program. This role leads installation and commissioning efforts, coordinates work across multiple divisions, and serves as the primary point of contact for schedule and status communication with the client. This is a field-focused, technically driven leadership role suited to someone who understands how systems are installed and brought online, and who can keep multiple trades aligned to a single program timeline. Nationwide travel may be required for select projects.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day field operations across security, fire alarm, fire suppression, and BAS scopes for a core business client/program.
• Lead installation and commissioning activities across project sites, ensuring work meets design specifications, code requirements, and quality standards.
• Develop, maintain, and manage integrated program schedules, identifying critical path items and proactively resolving conflicts between trades and divisions.
• Provide regular, clear status updates to the client, including progress reporting, schedule impacts, risks, and mitigation plans.
• Coordinate and manage scopes across internal divisions and subcontractors to ensure alignment on sequencing, resources, and deliverables.
• Compile and deliver consolidated program reporting to internal leadership and client stakeholders.
• Serve as the technical escalation point for field teams, supporting troubleshooting of installation and commissioning issues.
• Conduct regular site visits and walkthroughs to verify progress, workmanship, and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with general contractors, AHJs, and inspectors to support permitting, inspections, and system acceptance testing.
• Ensure adherence to company safety policies and jobsite safety requirements.
• Support closeout activities, including punch lists, as-builts, documentation, and client turnover.
• Travel nationwide as needed to support select projects.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in field operations within security, fire/life safety, building automation, or a related construction trade.
• 5+ years of construction or project management experience, including managing schedules and client-facing status reporting.
• Strong working knowledge of field installation practices for low-voltage and life safety systems.
• Hands-on technical expertise in installation and commissioning of security, fire alarm, fire suppression, and/or BAS systems.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple scopes and trades simultaneously on a single program.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting updates to clients.
• Willingness and ability to travel nationwide as needed.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing multi-site or program-level work, particularly on large or modular construction projects.
• Familiarity with NFPA 72, NFPA 13, NEC, and other applicable life safety and electrical codes.
• Industry certifications such as NICET (Fire Alarm or Water-Based Systems), PMP, or OSHA 30.
• Experience with access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection platforms.
• Familiarity with BAS platforms (e.g., Niagara, Johnson Controls Metasys, Siemens, Honeywell) and integration with life safety systems.
• Proficiency with scheduling and project tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore, or similar.
• Experience working in Texas and familiarity with local AHJ processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent field experience.
