Job summary

M/I Homes is seeking a Plans and Permits-focused professional to manage the permitting process for new homes and model offices in a fast-paced environment. Based in North Carolina, you will coordinate plan sets, ARB submissions, and weekly status updates with field staff and subcontractors.

The ideal candidate has construction industry experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to review plot plans and construction drawings for accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience reading and reviewing construction plans.
• Experience reading and reviewing plot plans highly desired.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to assist in departmental workflow.

Responsibilities

• Manage the construction permitting process for houses, model homes, and offices.
• Order and review plan sets for permitting accuracy.
• Assemble and mark-up plans for permitting, staff, and subcontractors.
• Coordinate ARB submittals and approvals; resolve issues.
• Update weekly Starts Report and permit tracking systems.
