Job summary

Hillard Electric, Inc in Cedar Springs, MI is hiring a Payroll & HR Administrator to join our Accounting & Administration Team. This role combines weekly payroll with employee administration, benefits, HR processes, and workforce programs in a fast-paced construction environment.

The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and maintains confidentiality, deadlines, and high service levels for employees and managers. Prior experience with UKG and construction ERP is preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of payroll/human resources administration experience.
• Experience supporting hourly/field-based workforce preferred.
• Proficiency with payroll systems (UKG) and ERP/accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for about 100 employees; review timecards and deductions.
• Maintain payroll records and prepare reports; assist year-end and compliance.
• Coordinate onboarding/offboarding and benefit information for employees.
• Maintain confidential personnel files; handle status and wage changes.
• Serve as a resource on payroll, benefits, policies, and HR questions.
• Coordinate performance reviews and wage changes.
• Administer benefits enrollment, changes, and open enrollment support.
• Assist with onboarding of apprenticeship programs and training records.
