Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Construction Coordinator for Fermilab-related work in Batavia, IL.

The role focuses on coordinating complex facilities construction, inspecting progress, and ensuring adherence to ES&H plans and schedule, with interaction across project teams and external contractors. The candidate should have a Bachelor/Associate degree in CM/Engineering, 10+ years in heavy industrial construction, and US citizenship to meet security requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field.
• Must be able to pass a federal background investigation to secure DOE Q security clearance if required.
• U.S. Citizenship required for federal contract security compliance.
• Health & Safety training and medical monitoring per client requirements.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy industrial/commercial or civil construction preferred.
• Knowledge of construction disciplines (excavation, concrete, structural steel, electrical, plumbing, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interaction with Fermilab, project teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in MS Office, Primavera P6 and web-based PM systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate construction activities and inspect work to ensure compliance with specifications and codes.
• Oversee ES&H plans and OSHA standards on site.
• Prepare and issue reports to the NSCF project manager and maintain documentation.
• Coordinate third-party QA inspections and tests.
• Review and approve contractor payment applications and change requests.
• Maintain field documentation and manage scope changes and field-directed changes.
• Communicate daily/weekly shifts with subcontractors and coordinate with facility operations.
