Job summary

CAGE Engineering in Lisle, IL is seeking a Construction Management Intern to support our Development Services & Construction Management team on real client projects from day one. You will develop onsite coordination and site oversight skills while building professional networks and organizational abilities under daily mentorship.

You are pursuing a BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering and will gain hands-on experience in pre-construction meetings, scheduling, budgeting, drawing

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field from an accredited university
• Familiarity with Word, Excel, and Outlook; exposure to scheduling programs a plus
• Focused, motivated, and results oriented
• Strong desire to learn and advance technical skills
• Comfortable working outdoors and on active job sites
• Ability to learn quickly and accept constructive criticism
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills
• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license in your state of residence

Responsibilities

• Assist with organizing and preparing for pre-construction meetings
• Support coordination between engineers and consultants to align with project schedules and progress
• Assist with estimating, scheduling, drawing review, and budget tracking
• Help with scheduling and coordinating contractors
• Assist in reviewing development agreements
• Support project site supervision and site visits
• Help review pay applications
• Assist with the project closeout process
• Learn and follow the safety program on all project phases
• Daily on-the-spot training to build technical and professional skills
• Meet regularly with your assigned mentor throughout the summer
• Attend optional office hours to meet with CAGE leaders
