Job summary

CAGE Engineering, Inc. invites a Civil Engineer Intern to join our Chicago design team and work on real client projects from day one. You will develop Civil 3D skills, learn site design, and grow professional capabilities through mentor-led trainings and regular check-ins.

The role reports to a Project Engineer, requires pursuing a BS in Engineering, with no prior professional experience required, and offers structured guidance and hands-on project experience in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS in Engineering from an accredited university.
• Familiarity with CAD.
• Focused, motivated, and results oriented; eager to learn and take feedback.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft land development plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Support production of design documents and calculations, including code research and stormwater management.
• Prepare site, grading, and utility plans illustrating developability.
• Attend meetings with clients to review plans and discuss direction.
• Meet with mentor regularly and participate in trainings and office hours.
