$25.00/hr - $28.00/hr
Job Title: Construction Materials Testing Technician (Full-time)
- Work Location: Atlanta, GA
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with the manager during the interview.Duties/Responsibilities:- Conduct materials testing and some construction inspections, mainly in the field, with potential lab work.
- Support the company's CEI services to ensure quality assurance for clients and projects.
- Perform moisture and compaction tests using Nuclear Densimeter or sand cone device.
- Obtain representative field samples and perform tests on concrete materials to determine temperature, unit, weight, slump, yield, and air entrainment.
- Work near heavy construction equipment, requiring standing, climbing in/out of trenches, and exposure to hazardous materials, chemicals, dust, and weather conditions.
- Use appropriate safety equipment and procedures.
- Report to the Engineer/Project Manager, who reviews work through conferences, observations, and results.
- Communicate with the public, employees, vendors, management, and contractors about job progress, test results, and scheduling.
- Prepare documentation of test results and unusual site conditions.
- Meet scheduling and attendance requirements.
- Understand and interpret schematic drawings for sampling/testing locations.
- Learn on-the-job and classroom training regarding sampling and testing procedures.
Education/Experience:- High School Diploma/GED
- Knowledge of construction materials' properties and characteristics.
- 1-5 years of experience in construction, inspection, or materials testing.
- Preferred certifications: ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician I, GDOT FCON, and Nuclear Gauge user certification.
- Valid driver’s license and insurability.
Physical Requirements:- Mobility around construction sites and field assignments.
- Ability to carry instruments and equipment.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Perform essential functions safely and effectively, complying with standards.
- Work in variable climates, including extreme cold and heat.
