Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Intern Level I to observe and begin performing routine field and laboratory testing tasks in support of construction materials testing projects. You will assist with data collection, documentation, and testing activities under supervision, building foundational technical skills and professional competencies.

You will gain familiarity with construction practices, materials testing methods, and project workflows while upholding ECS

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering, or other degree related to our services.
• 0 years of related experience required.
• Completion timeline: Radiation Safety, Soils I, and Concrete I within stated periods.
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS subsidiary.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 85 pounds multiple times daily.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
• Willingness to work in outdoor environments and field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction materials observation and testing activities in the field and laboratory.
• Observe and participate in testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Document site conditions and testing results in field reports.
• Assist with preparation and organization of field and laboratory equipment.
• Perform basic data entry, calculations, and data reduction tasks.
• Communicate with field staff, contractors, and project team members.
• Keep supervisors informed of changing site conditions or additional testing needs.
• Assist with reviewing laboratory results and supporting project documentation.
• Support laboratory testing activities, including sample preparation, curing, and testing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of field and laboratory areas.
• Notify supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Attend project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
