Job summary

ECS Group of Companies seeks a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Intern Level I in Greensboro, NC. The role observes and begins routine field and laboratory testing tasks supporting testing projects under supervision, while gaining familiarity with construction practices and testing methods.

Ideal candidates are pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering or related field, must complete certifications within the 90/270 day windows, and hold a valid driver’s license

Qualifications

• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor, or Master degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Must be enrolled and actively pursuing a relevant degree.
• One or more basic certifications must be completed within 270 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for ECS driving assignments.
• Strong communication, dependable and organized work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assists with construction materials observation and testing activities in the field and laboratory.
• Observes and participates in testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Documents site conditions and testing results accurately in field reports.
• Assists with the preparation and organization of field and laboratory equipment.
• Performs basic data entry, calculations, and data reduction tasks.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of field and laboratory work areas.
