Job summary

SOCOTEC US is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform testing of soils, concrete, aggregate, and asphalt materials for construction material projects. You will conduct tests, maintain records, and ensure compliance with ASTM and AASHTO standards.

Responsibilities include performing Proctor compaction, sieve analyses, Atterberg limits, and various asphalt tests while handling samples, recording results, and maintaining QC documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience performing laboratory testing of soils, aggregates, concrete, and/or asphalt materials preferred.
• Knowledge of ASTM, AASHTO, and industry-standard laboratory testing procedures.
• ATTI/ASTM/AASHTO Soils and Aggregate certification preferred.

• Conduct testing including Proctor compaction, sieve analysis, Atterberg Limits, sand equivalent, uncompacted voids, compression testing, and other standard laboratory procedures.
• Perform asphalt testing including ignition oven, Marshall/Gyratory, Rice density, and related testing methods.
• Receive, sample, split, process, and prepare materials for testing.
• Accurately record, calculate, and report test results.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, testing areas, and quality control documentation.
• Ensure testing is performed in accordance with applicable standards, safety requirements, and laboratory procedures.
• Assist with laboratory operations and other duties as assigned.

• Maintain laboratory equipment, testing areas, and quality control documentation.
• Ensure testing is performed in accordance with applicable standards, safety requirements, and laboratory procedures.
• Assist with laboratory operations and other duties as assigned.
