S&ME, a 100% employee-owned firm with 50+ years of experience in geotechnical, civil, environmental, and construction materials testing, is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Project Manager in Columbia, SC. The role focuses on leading CMT/SI projects, coordinating with clients and contractors, and delivering high-quality reports and controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and Special Inspection (SI) experience, including 2+ years in a project management role.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Active ICC, ACI, and DOT certifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, DOT standards and IBC Special Inspections requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to develop, review, and deliver accurate technical reports and project documentation.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of CMT and Special Inspection projects throughout the lifecycle, managing budgets, schedules, staffing, and technical requirements.
• Serve as a key contact for clients and contractors, attending meetings and site visits to address needs and communicate progress.
• Provide technical direction in the field and coach technicians and engineers to ensure quality reporting.
• Prepare and review project reports, proposals, scopes, and estimates, aligned with client expectations and schedules.
• Strengthen existing client relationships and identify new opportunities through networking and industry involvement.
