Whitestone Associates, Inc. is a Geotechnical and Environmental consulting firm seeking a Laboratory/Field Technician in Alpha, NJ. Responsibilities include retrieving samples, supporting lab operations, recording test results, and performing occasional field testing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree or higher in Civil Engineering, Geology, Construction Technology, or a related field preferred.
• Whitestone will provide a company vehicle for employees to perform the duties of this position; must be at least 21 to operate.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting requirements.
• Ability to lift/move soil and/or concrete samples as required.
• Interest in soils, construction materials testing, and laboratory work.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow testing procedures accurately.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve and transport soil and/or concrete samples from project sites and offices to the Alpha, NJ laboratory.
• Support laboratory operations, including sample prep, upkeep, and documenting test results.
• Monitor concrete sample curing conditions and testing schedules.
• Operate laboratory equipment used for compression testing and materials prep.
• Maintain accurate laboratory records, logs, and documentation.
• Maintain a clean lab workspace and assist with equipment maintenance.
• Follow safety procedures during all activities.
• Perform field testing of construction materials on an as-needed basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Laboratory Manager.
