Job summary

ECS Southwest, LLP in Tempe, AZ is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Intern Level I to observe and perform routine field and laboratory testing tasks in support of our projects. You will assist with data collection, documentation, and testing activities under the direction of more experienced staff while gaining familiarity with construction practices and materials testing methods.

This role develops foundational technical skills and professional competencies while upholding ECS Core

Qualifications

• Pursuing an engineering degree (Associate/Bachelor/Master) related to our services.
• Ability to follow directions and work under close supervision.
• Willingness to work in outdoor environments and field conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assists with construction materials observation and testing activities in the field and laboratory.
• Observes and participates in testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials.
• Documents site conditions and testing results accurately in field reports.
• Assists with the preparation and organization of field and laboratory equipment.
• Performs basic data entry, calculations, and data reduction tasks.
• Communicates with field staff, contractors, and project team members.
• Keeps supervisors informed of changing site conditions or additional testing needs.
• Attends project meetings with senior staff as requested.
