Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Intern Level 3 who will perform field and laboratory testing and support project execution with increasing independence on more complex projects. This role contributes to technical tasks, project coordination, and operational support, including testing, documentation, and early involvement in project management activities.

Qualifications

• 90 days of related experience.
• Graduate student in Civil Engineering with ECS internship, or two prior ECS internships.
• Pursuing Associate, Bachelor, or Master in Civil Engineering.
• Certifications due within 270 days, incl. Radiation Safety, Soils I, Concrete I.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to lift 85 pounds daily.

Responsibilities

• Perform soils, concrete, asphalt, steel, masonry testing and observation on projects.
• Assist in selecting field/lab testing methods under guidance.
• Perform lab tests and interpret results with senior staff.
• Document data and prepare reports.
• Attend project meetings and assist with issue resolution.
• Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and technical docs.
• Coordinate field testing schedules.
• Assist training and oversight of Field Technicians.
• Support budgeting, tracking, and invoicing activities.
• Communicate with project teams and contractors.
• Maintain organization of equipment and documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
