Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates, Inc. in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Construction Materials Testing Technician to support land development and construction projects.

You will perform field observations, sample and test materials, and prepare daily logs with inspection results, working with a team of engineers and project managers. The role requires climbing, lifting up to 80 pounds, valid driver's license, and the ability to work outdoors in varied weather.

Qualifications

• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record.
• Must meet additional pre-employment criteria.
• Lift and/or move up to 60–80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, other equipment).
• Work in outdoor climates and varied terrains.
• Attention to detail and safety compliance.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Use of tablet and MS Office programs.
• Read and interpret plans, specs, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.

Responsibilities

• Field observations at jobsites in the region.
• Sampling and testing of construction materials.
• Preparing accurate daily logs with inspection results.
• Daily communication with PM or Operations Manager regarding project progress.
