Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a Construction Material Testing Technician.

Summary:

• This person will provide material testing, construction observation from a quality standpoint, and construction inspections on assigned field projects according to applicable specifications for independent testing laboratories.
• Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, sample preparation, collection & testing, field observations, general inspections, and documentation of construction activities on site related to soil, concrete, grout, mortar, and asphalt.

Job Duties:

• Review specifications for civil and structural plans and identify applicable sections.
• Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers.

• Perform tests, conduct inspections, and make observations as required by the project.

• Submit daily reports documenting testing, inspections, and observations.
• Identify, communicate, and document non-conforming items to supervision.

• Maintain, calibrate, and clean all equipment per standards.

• Transport and operate a nuclear density gauge, adhering to safety and maintenance guidelines outlined in the Radiation Safety Program.

Requirements:

• ACI Field Level 1 Certification (concrete testing)
• Knowledge of sample preparation, collection & testing, and documentation
• Ability to create accurate, confidential test records and reports
• Proficiency with computers and software applications

• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle safely

Preferred:

• ICC certifications (all levels are a plus)
• Other nationally recognized materials testing certifications

Pay Range:

• $20–26/hr, based on experience
