Job summary

Mountain West Consulting LLC in the Phoenix area seeks a Construction Manager to lead large-scale energy infrastructure projects. You will ensure safety, schedule, and budget compliance while directing construction activities and coordinating with owners, consultants, and contractors.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in Architecture/Engineering/Construction Management and relevant certifications (ACI, NACE, CCM, OSHA 10/30).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • AC I/NACE/CCM certifications are preferred.
  • OSHA 10/30 construction safety training.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the owner's representative for large capital improvement projects, coordinating with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, reports, and construction documents for code compliance and project requirements.
  • Oversee complex construction activities including facility modifications, utilities, equipment installation, and inspections.
  • Coordinate access, permits, shutdowns, schedules, subcontractor activities, and stakeholder communication to minimize disruption.
  • Support budget and schedule control by tracking progress and reporting variances.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, evaluate constructability and cost effectiveness.
  • Monitor jobsite safety, enforce regulations, and issue stop-work when necessary.
  • Maintain inspection logs, prepare required reports, and ensure accurate project records.
  • Lead, train, and mentor assigned staff to improve team efficiency and client service.

Mountain West Consulting (MWC) is a growing project management, construction management and consulting firm specializing in large-scale energy infrastructure projects across the Western and Southern United States. We partner with developers, owners, and contractors to deliver industrial projects on time and on budget.

Role Overview

The Construction Manager will lead high-impact infrastructure and energy projects across the Phoenix Metro Area, ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving excellence in safety, cost control, scheduling, and overall project execution for complex mechanical construction initiatives. The position plays a key role in supporting mission-critical projects that power communities and industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the owner's representative for large capital improvement projects, making project-related decisions with consultants, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Review plans, specifications, contracts, reports, and construction documents to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and project requirements.
  • Oversee complex construction activities, including facility modifications, utilities, equipment installation, exterior improvements, inspections, and field testing.
  • Coordinate access, permits, shutdowns, schedules, subcontractor activities, and stakeholder communication to minimize disruption and maintain project progress.
  • Help manage construction contracts, including changes, documentation, progress estimates, and variance reporting.
  • Identify and resolve complex technical issues, evaluate constructability and cost effectiveness, and support budget and schedule control.
  • Monitor jobsite safety, enforce applicable regulations and policies, and issue stop-work direction when necessary.
  • Maintain inspection logs, prepare required reports, update project specifications, and ensure accurate project records.
  • Lead, train, and mentor assigned staff while contributing to team efficiency, customer service, and professional development.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Must pass applicable background check and pre-employment drug screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is required. An advanced degree is helpful. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted
  • American Concrete Institute (ACI)
  • National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE)
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM)
  • OSHA 10/30 - Construction Safety course completion, additional training in electrical safety, vertical construction, LOTO
  • Any related certifications preferred but not required
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary: $110,000 - 140,000, commensurate with experience.
