Job summary

Plummer Associates, Inc. is seeking a Construction Inspector/Engineer in Training to support field inspections across multiple projects. You will read plans, supervise inspectors, and collaborate with engineers and clients to ensure project quality and performance.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management and the ability to obtain EIT/CMIT within six months. Travel and a valid driver's license are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management is required.
• EIT/CMIT certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel.
• Reading plans and specifications is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform Construction Inspection duties on assigned projects and lead inspections.
• Direct inspectors and field staff.
• Coordinate with Engineers during construction.
• Communicate with Clients, Contractors and Engineers.
• Complete Daily Construction Reports and other documentation.
• Assist Construction Manager as assigned.

Job Description

• 0-4 years field experience in construction or construction management.
• Must be able to read plans and specifications.
• Perform Construction Inspection duties on projects assigned. Able to lead project inspection on multiple projects.
• Able to direct inspectors and field staff.
• Able to work with Engineers on projects during construction.
• Able to communicate with Clients, Contractor ad Engineers.
• Complete Daily Construction Reports and other documentation as assigned by Construction Manager.
• Assist Construction Manager as assigned.
• Ability to understand budgets and cost assignments.
• Willing to attend outside training – OSHA, ACI, Etc.
• Other Duties as Assigned.
• All duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited college in Engineering or Construction Management and Engineering in Training or Construction Management Manager in Training (EIT or CMIT) from the appropriate state agency or CMAA or the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment, or equivalent experience.
• Valid Driver’s License
• Able to use Microsoft Programs and others as assigned
• Willing to Travel
