Seeking a Construction Management Services Team Leader, Southeast Texas
Job Description

Plummer is seeking an experienced construction management leader who will manage a team of construction managers (CMs), inspectors, and Resident Project Representatives (RPRs) in Plummer’s South, Central and Southeast Texas geographies. This role will also include responsibility for oversight of multiple small to medium size projects or one or two large projects. A list of the primary duties and responsibilities is provided below.

  • 12+ years field experience in construction or construction management and/or program management.
  • Be an effective leader of people. Communicate well and manage to achieve team goals and outcomes. Be inspirational, be accountable for the team’s performance, and hold team members accountable for their performance. Mentor and coach others and be a continual learner.
  • Responsible for the goal setting, performance management and performance feedback of team members.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Ability to understand and assist engineers with development and review of cost estimates.
  • Manage construction inspection duties on multiple assigned projects.
  • Oversee team of CMs, RPRs, inspectors and field staff.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineers on projects during construction.
  • Ability to communicate with clients, contractors and engineers.
  • Ability to develop and manage project schedules.
  • Ability to develop and understand budgets and cost assignments.
  • Willing to attend outside training – OSHA, ACI, etc.
  • Function as a seller-doer and support the Area Leader and Practice Leader where needed on marketing and business development to support growth of the team and area sales.
  • Assist Area Leader and Practice Leader in developing and implementing Corporate Strategy as it relates to the Team.
  • Help the Area Leader and Practice Leader recruit and hire technical talent into the team.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may have to work in outside weather conditions, primarily in the state of Texas. Employee occasionally works near moving parts and can be exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration.
  • Employee will be expected to pass OSHA safety course as part of training for jobsite visits.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand up to 8 hours or more at one time, walk in rugged conditions, and work in adverse weather conditions.
  • The employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, climb or balance, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 125 pounds.
Job Requirements
  • Minimum 12 years of relevant construction management experience leading a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college in Engineering, Construction Management or related program.
  • Construction Manager Certification from CMAA or ability to obtain it in 1year.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Able to use Microsoft Office Programs and other software as assigned.
  • Ability to travel periodically, with sufficient notice.
  • Able to work in the United Stated without sponsorship.
