Job summary

Vanguard Energy Partners, LLC is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at solar, BESS, and microgrid construction sites. The role ensures projects are built to VEP specifications, coordinates with subcontractors and crews, and maintains schedule and safety standards.

Travel to remote sites is required. The Manager will communicate project status to Project Managers and Engineers, document daily activities, and collaborate to ensure quality and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in general construction; 1 year solar PV experience.

Job description

The Construction Manager will manages and oversee the day to day operations at the construction site of Solar, BESS and Microgrid Projects. The Construction Manager's primary purpose is to ensure that all construction projects are being built to VEP's specifications. The Construction Manager will coordinate with all subcontractors, labor and site logistics to ensure that construction will be on schedule. THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE TRAVEL.

The Construction Manager is responsible for prompt and accurate communication to the Project Managers and Engineers about the status of a project. The Project Superintendent is responsible for monitoring the entire site daily to ensure VEP's safety standards are upheld.

Job Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects for the installation of Photo Voltaic, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Microgrid and other Distributed/Onsite Energy Systems.
• Supervise subcontractors and labor crews to ensure the project conforms to the plans, specifications, schedules and budgets.
• Coordinate material and equipment logistics with the Project Engineer.
• Maintain and exceed labor production goals.
• Communicates as required to ensure subcontractor and vendor work is being done in accordance with the contract.
• Work with the construction team to maintain schedule and budget.
• Interacts with Engineering and Estimating with feedback on estimates, cost, best practices, etc.
• Focus on safety, quality, production and client satisfaction.
• Conduct daily safety talks and job hazard analysis.
• Be an active member in VEP's safety program.
• Work with Project Managers to obtain all inspections and ensure that the quality aspects of the physical work are fully documented.
• Manage all changes in project scope to ensure that subcontractors are aware of these changes. Report all scope changes to the project managers.
• Maintain daily paperwork including field reports, schedule updates and email correspondence.
• Save all project documents in the appropriate folders in the shared drives.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in general construction, 1 year of solar photovoltaic experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction management, or a combination of education and appropriate experience preferred.
• Prefer an Electrical Background
• Ability to manage multiple projects and a large- scale workforce.
• Will be required to effectively manage all essential job duties and meet assigned deadlines.
• Ability to maintain onsite project documentation
• Ability to schedule and coordinate all site work
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly motivated, driven and results oriented, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
• Ability to interact with people on all levels ensuring that all external and internal communication is carried out to a high standard.
• Excellent critical thinking and decision- making abilities.
• A conceptual knowledge of Racking systems, Panels, Inverters, DC wiring, AC wiring, Interconnection, DAS, Battery's, Gensets, Turbines, ATS, Switchgear, NEC, Rapid Shutdown will be beneficial.
• Must be willing to travel to remote sites and stay on location for extended periods of time when needed.
