We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Construction Manager with specialized experience in the data center industry and expertise in low voltage systems, building automation, and controls. The successful candidate will oversee planning, coordination, and execution of construction activities, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and high standards of quality and safety.

Remote role, but MUST be located near (or willing to relocate to) Tulsa, OK, Huntsville, AL, or West-Central TX.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage end-to-end construction of mission-critical data center projects, focusing on low voltage, controls, and automation systems.
  2. Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across all construction phases.
  3. Oversee installation and integration of structured cabling, Building Management Systems (BMS/EPMS), Access Control and CCTV, Fire Alarm, and Life Safety Systems.
  4. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and safety regulations.
  5. Track project progress, manage schedules, resolve issues, and escalate risks as needed.
  6. Ensure control systems are commissioned, tested, and verified according to design intent.
  7. Maintain accurate documentation of activities, changes, and system testing.
  8. Act as liaison between the construction site and upper management, providing timely updates.
  9. Travel is expected at 35%, with potential for permanent relocation for long-term assignments.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. Collaborative mindset emphasizing teamwork.
  3. 5–10+ years of experience managing construction projects, preferably in mission-critical environments such as data centers, healthcare, or pharma.
  4. Strong background in low voltage systems, controls, and automation technologies.
  5. Deep understanding of electrical, mechanical, and IT infrastructure in large facilities.
  6. Proven ability to manage multiple trades and large teams on-site.
  7. Knowledge of commissioning processes and automation system integration.
  8. Familiarity with building codes, industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, NFPA), and safety regulations.
  9. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  10. PMP or other relevant certifications are a plus.

Preferred Experience:

  1. Experience with hyperscale or colocation data centers.
  2. Familiarity with platforms like Tridium Niagara, Schneider Electric, Honeywell, Siemens, or Johnson Controls.
  3. LEED, BICSI, or NICET certifications.
