Hargrove EPC seeks an experienced construction leader to drive safe, on-time delivery of complex projects in partnership with design and field teams.

The role emphasizes managing contractors, ensuring compliance with specifications, and maintaining strong client relationships across varied project sizes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master in Construction Science or related field preferred.
  • General Contractors License highly preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of industrial construction management or project experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project delivery safely, on time, within budget and quality targets.
  • Oversee safety for all contractors and ensure zero-accident initiatives.
  • Consult with design leaders and coordinate with discipline leads for progress.
  • Manage client relationships and promote long-term partnerships.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and submittals for conformance.
  • Coordinate activities to avoid delays and optimize resources.

What You'll Be Doing

Job Summary: Generally responsible for total delivery of services safely, on time, within performance budget and meeting quality expectations on moderately complex projects. Work at this level requires progressive experience in construction management and involves utilization of project controls for cost, schedule and quality of projects. This work will be performed under minimal supervision.


Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to:


  • Familiarity with and utilizing department standards.

  • Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a task.

  • Extensive knowledge of construction safety requirements, with a commitment to a zero accidents environment. Ability to ensure contractor's activities are planned and executed with safety first.

  • Responsible for the safe performance of all contractors on the assigned project.

  • Consulting with design leaders, then following up for support to ensure efficient progress and quality of technical contractual activities on one or more projects of various sizes.

  • Promoting continued relationships with clients.

  • Participating in field construction efforts, design phase services and all subcontracting as well as participating in all major technical, cost, scheduling and performance decisions.

  • Recognizing and communicating scope and design changes promptly.

  • Providing on-site assistance during startup.

  • Coordinating work activities with other staff members and the discipline lead.

  • Consulting with design leaders to ensure the smooth flow of vital information necessary for the scheduled completion of the project.

  • Advising the senior engineer concerning design or scope changes, which have been identified.

  • Reviewing and checking vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for input.

  • Reviewing construction specifications.

  • Reviewing fabrication drawings and other construction submittals for conformance to engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Coordinating contractor activities to avoid lost time due to problem resolutions or lack of direction.

  • Monitoring contractor resource assignments to ensure that the correct numbers of resources are assigned to the work.

Ideal Background


  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Construction Science, Building Science or related field from an accredited university is highly preferred.

  • Licensing: General Contractors License is highly preferred.

  • Experience: This position requires a minimum 10 years of relevant industrial construction management or project related experience.

  • Ability to delegate authority appropriately.

  • Ability to clearly communicate expectations and requirements to team members and to structure accountability.

  • Ability to set priorities.

  • Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.


Physical Requirements


  • Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.

  • Ability to perform work outdoors in hot or cold climates.

  • Ability to perform duties while wearing personal protective equipment such as a fire-retardant jumpsuit, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hat.
