Bernard Nickels & Associates in Edwardsville, IL is seeking a Site Construction Manager to lead renewable energy construction projects from start to finish, with daily administrative and technical oversight.

You will mentor junior staff, assist Senior Project Managers with budgeting, scheduling, and quality control, and ensure compliance with OSHA and other safety standards while delivering on time and within budget.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least five (5) years of project management experience in electrical, mechanical, or engineering construction.
• Renewable energy PV project experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field (preferred).

Job Description: Site Construction Manager

Location: Edwardsville, IL

Responsibilities

• Project Oversight: Provide daily administrative and technical management for renewable energy construction projects, ensuring energy savings delivery for public and private sector clients.
• Project Management Support: Assist Senior Project Managers with budgeting, accounting, quality management, and internal communications.
• Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to corporate financial policies, including revenue recognition and project setup; serve as a liaison between the business office and operations.
• Customer Relations: Manage direct interfaces with customers, focusing on service, relationship building, and meeting contractual obligations.
• Design & Development: Support engineering teams during the design phase, including scope definition, subcontractor selection, and cost estimation.
• Performance Monitoring: Track project performance and actual expenses against plans to provide accurate completion forecasts.
• Procurement & Bidding: Review subcontractor and vendor bids to verify scope, schedule, and timely delivery of materials and equipment.
• Subcontractor Management: Oversee vendors and site supervisors to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Scheduling: Maintain updated project schedules, monitor critical path activities, and provide detailed two-week look-ahead schedules for customer coordination.
• Financial Tracking: Manage project expenditures, job cost accounting, documentation, approvals, and monthly forecasting.
• Safety & Compliance: Ensure all work complies with industry, customer, and jurisdictional safety standards and codes.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience: At least five (5) years of project management experience in electrical, mechanical, or engineering construction.
• Specialization: Proven focus on renewable energy projects, specifically Photovoltaics (PV).

Preferred Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field.
• Technical Knowledge: Experience with energy efficiency disciplines (e.g., digital controls, VFDs, high-efficiency motors, central plants, and lighting retrofits).
• Safety & Regulatory: Strong familiarity with OSHA safety standards and construction industry codes.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and MS Project.
