Job summary

Quanta Infrastructure Services Group (QISG) is seeking a Construction Manager to provide on-site oversight, coordination and technical leadership for all project construction activities, ensuring work aligns with specifications and schedule within budget.

You will lead discipline supervisors and the site safety adviser, drive safety trainings, review subcontractor packages, manage progress against goals, and support startup, commissioning and testing of the facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management preferred.
• Experience in EPC projects in electric power delivery preferred.
• 20–25 years of substations or related facility construction.
• Strong background in installation of high voltage electrical facilities.
• Knowledge of construction tech, cost control, scheduling and safety.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate crews and subcontractors to meet budgets and schedules.
• Integrate safety into project plans and reinforce safety policies.
• Supervise construction to ensure productivity and contractual goals.
• Review subcontractor work packages.
• Assist discipline supervisors with scope development and issue resolution.
• Regularly appraise progress against goals and timelines.
• Conduct daily site coordination meetings with subcontractors.
• Ensure environmental, regulatory and safety compliance during construction.
• Assist startup, commissioning and testing of the facility.
• Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.

About this Role

The Quanta Infrastructure Services Group (QISG) Construction Manager provides on-site oversight, coordination, management and technical expertise for all aspects of the project construction and interfaces on a daily basis with discipline supervisors and the site safety advisor to ensure project specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule within budget.

What You'll Do

• Works with discipline supervisors and project manager to assure crews and subcontractors are working efficiently to meet contracting requirements, budgets, forecasts and schedules
• Integrates safety into project plans, reinforces safety policies, supports safety trainings and corrects unsafe conditions
• Supervises total construction effort to ensure productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials & equipment and contractual performance goals are being met
• Review subcontractor work packages
• Assists discipline supervisors with project scope development, questions and problem resolutions
• Systematically and regularly appraises and evaluates progress against goals, timelines and objectives
• Conducts daily site coordination meetings with all subcontractors
• Ensures project environmental, regulatory and safety requirements are adhered to during construction activities
• Assists start-up team during the start-up, commissioning and testing of the facility
• Performs any other duties assigned
• Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in construction management is preferred
• Relevant career experience in the construction industry and exposure to EPC projects in the electric power delivery sector is preferred
• 20 - 25 years of substation or related facility construction experience with a track record of achievement on large complex projects
• Strong technical background in the installation and operation of high voltage electrical facilities and associated subsystems
• Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods), craft agreements, jurisdiction, engineering, cost control, schedule and safety
• Must be capable of performing physical activities such as lifting to 20 pounds at times, bending, standing, walking, lifting, stretching, climbing, and crawling in both on-site and office environments
• Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions and uneven terrain
