Qualifications

• Enrolled in a college/university degree or Co-op program with at least one year completed.
• Must be 18+ to work on a construction site.
• Desire to work in construction management and to learn about the construction industry.
• Commitment to standard business hours and potential overtime as determined by assignment.
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills including student leadership, volunteerism, or other community involvement.
• Professional and clear verbal and written communication skills; English required.
• Ability to read and comprehend written information.
• Accountability for own actions; proactive and eager to learn.
• Able to work independently and in a team; strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Support project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, document control, and progress reporting.
• Follow project site signage and supervisor instructions.
• Provide progress reports to supervisor and learn about construction management.
• Relate academic knowledge to work activities.
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, customers, clients, and subcontractors.
• Participate in training, meetings, and orientation.
• Comply with safety protocols and wear PPE.
• Assist with start-up activities and support Project Engineer/Manager.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Assist with estimates for changes in work from subcontractors.
• Attend site visits to observe field activities.
• Prepare communications to Architects, Engineers, vendors, subcontractors.
• Communicate with trades to track job schedules.
• Monitor contractor safety program compliance.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and studies; learn details.
• Assist with subcontractor proposals for delivery system.
• Assist with project close out preparations.
