Job summary

Turner Construction Company in Northern CA (Sacramento) is seeking a Construction Intern Summer 2027 to support site activities on an active project. You will gain foundational knowledge in construction management, business and project financial management, safety protocols, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and lifecycle project coordination, with educational credits where applicable.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited degree program or Co-op, minimum 1 year completed.
• Must be 18 years of age to work on a construction site.
• Desire to learn construction management and industry basics.
• Commitment to standard business hours and overtime as needed.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project start-up activities and support Project Engineer, Project Superintendent, and/or Project Manager.
• Assist with collection and review of information and approvals for shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
• Assist with preparation and distribution of information for contract requirements to appropriate parties.
• Attend project site visits to observe and document construction field activities.
• Assist with communication to Architects, Engineers, vendors, and subcontractors regarding their assigned trades.
• Assist with monitoring contractor safety compliance and use of PPE.
• Assist with quantity take-offs and studies for project items using traditional or computer-aided tools.
