Job summary

DN Tanks LLC is seeking a Construction Management Intern in San Diego, CA who will gain hands-on experience in civil engineering and heavy-civil construction projects. You will work with a dedicated mentor and contribute to real projects from conception to completion.

We require enrollment in an Engineering or Construction Management undergraduate program, CAD experience (AutoCAD) and MS Office, plus strong communication and time-management skills. Local transportation to El Cajon is needed.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management undergraduate program (Civil Engineering preferred).
• Experience with CAD software (AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
• Ability to problem-solve in individual and team settings.

Responsibilities

• Identify local concrete suppliers and prepare pre-bid/post-bid pricing for concrete/shotcrete mixes.
• Work with concrete suppliers to develop and trial batch concrete/shotcrete mix designs; assist Project Engineers with detailed project submittals.
• Develop AutoCAD site layout drawings showing cut/fill slopes, ramps, work roads, crane positions, and casting bed locations.
• Coordinate with sitework, rebar, crane, and concrete subcontractors.
• Perform jobsite pre-pour inspections with Project Engineers and Project Managers before concrete placements.
• Visit local construction sites during precast panel erection.
