Job summary

DN Tanks is seeking a Construction Management Intern in San Diego, CA. You will gain hands-on experience in civil engineering and construction under a dedicated mentor, contributing to real projects and learning the full lifecycle of heavy-civil work from conception to completion.

This local internship offers about 20 hours per week beginning January 2026, with summer opportunities. The role includes mentorship, competitive hourly pay, PTO, and leadership training programs to build your future

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management undergraduate program.
  • CAD software exposure (preferably AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
  • Problem-solving in individual and team settings.
  • Transportation to El Cajon, CA

Responsibilities

  • Identify local concrete suppliers and prepare pre-bid/post-bid pricing for concrete/shotcrete.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop and test batch designs; assist engineers with submittals.
  • Develop AutoCAD site layout drawings showing slopes, ramps, roads, crane positions, and beds.
  • Coordinate with sitework, rebar, crane, and concrete subcontractors.
  • Perform pre-pour inspections with engineers and managers before concrete placements.
  • Visit local sites during precast panel erection.

We are seeking an intern local to San Diego, CA able to work approximately 20 hours per week beginning January 2026, with summer internship opportunities available.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Identify local concrete suppliers andpreparepre-bid/post-bid pricing for concrete/shotcrete mixes.
  • Work with concrete suppliers to develop and trial batch concrete/shotcrete mix designs. AssistProject Engineers with the preparation ofdetailedprojectsubmittals.
  • Develop AutoCAD site layout drawings showing cut/fill slopes, ramps, work roads, crane positions, and casting bed locations.
  • Coordinate with sitework, rebar, crane, and concrete subcontractors.
  • Perform jobsite pre-pour inspections with Project Engineers and Project Managers prior to concrete placements.
  • Visit local construction sites during precast panel erection.
Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in an Engineering or Construction Management undergraduate program. A concentration in Civil Engineering is preferred.
  • Experience working with CAD software (preferably AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Excellent communication and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments.
  • Ability to problem-solve in individual and team settings.
  • Transportation to El Cajon, California

$24 - $25 an hour

DN offers a starting hourly rate of $24 per hour for interns and co-op students. This compensation is based on market rates and determined by considering many factors such as external market salary survey data, internal data for comparable roles, and the operational and budgetary objectives of the company.
