Hamilton Miller & Birthisel LLP is a premier insurance defense trial law firm with a broad presence across Florida and beyond. The Construction Attorney role will handle litigation matters, including drafting, discovery responses, legal research, motion practice, and trial preparation.

Responsibilities include managing high-volume files, defending depositions, and shaping litigation strategy with an emphasis on a trial-ready approach.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• Minimum 3 years of experience practicing construction law.
• Experience conducting depositions preferred.
• Experience in the courtroom, including arguing motions, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently manages construction matters statewide.
• Conducts and defends fact and expert depositions.
• Drafts and argues dispositive motions, including summary judgment.
• Performs site inspections and attends in-person depositions.
• Prepares litigation strategy and advises clients on case direction.
• Manages a high volume of files with court rules and deadlines.
• Maintains and grows client relationships and book of business.
• Utilizes internal and external resources to address complex issues.
• Demonstrates knowledge of federal and state civil procedure.
• Prioritizes time-sensitive tasks with professionalism under pressure.

Education
