Zusammenfassung

Hamilton Miller & Birthisel LLP, a premier insurance defense trial law firm, seeks an Attorney to independently manage defense litigated cases focused on general liability within Florida state courts, under the supervision of a partner.

The role requires full ownership of case deadlines, strategy development, trial preparation, and client communications, with work alongside a paralegal and legal assistant team. 30–40 case load anticipated.

Qualifikationen

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the state of Florida.
• Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in insurance defense (e.g. general liability, third-party insurance defense, and/or first party property/ casualty defense).

Aufgaben

• Independently manages general track of cases involving general liability with minimal oversight by managing partner.
• Comfortable in depositions, hearings, and communicating directly with clients and/or opposing counsel.
• Trial experience is a plus but not required.
• Drafts and argues dispositive motions, including motions for summary judgment, and appears at related hearings.
• Performs site inspections and attends in-person depositions as required.
• Prepares litigation strategy, evaluates exposure, and advises clients on case direction with a trial-ready approach.
• Ownership over file deadlines, case management deadlines, compliance with court rules and local procedural requirements.
• Utilizes internal and external resources as needed to address complex legal and factual issues.
• Perform both sedentary and physical tasks, including: Working at a computer for extended periods, participating in virtual meetings, attending in-person meetings.
• Manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.
