Job summary

Jobot is seeking a skilled construction litigation attorney in California to join a civil litigation firm focused on high-stakes disputes. The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of construction litigation experience, a JD from an ABA-accredited school, and active California Bar membership.

You will handle matters from pre-litigation through trial, draft pleadings, manage complex caseloads, and collaborate closely with partners and clients. Travel is required occasionally.

Qualifications

• JD from ABA-accredited law school.
• Active California Bar membership in good standing.
• 5-7 years of construction litigation or closely related litigation experience.
• Strong writing, analytical, organizational and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to independently manage a litigation caseload and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Handle construction litigation matters from pre-litigation through trial and appeal.
• Represent clients in disputes involving public and private construction projects.
• Manage cases involving contractors, subcontractors, owners, design professionals, construction managers, suppliers, manufacturers, and sureties.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other litigation-related documents.
• Conduct legal research and prepare case strategy recommendations.
• Participate in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and trials.
• Communicate regularly with clients regarding case progress and legal strategy.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, experts, and consultants to achieve favorable outcomes.
• Manage multiple active matters while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
