Job summary

Cross River’s Commercial Banking Group seeks an experienced CRE junior loan officer to join the team and support construction lending across residential and commercial asset types. The role reports to the Head of Underwriting and Processing and supports origination and underwriting activities.

Responsibilities include sourcing leads, gathering loan data, assessing credit risk, preparing memos, and coordinating with third parties to finalize underwriting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant construction lending underwriting experience.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support the Construction team with originating and underwriting of new transactions.
• Source new leads via existing relationships and establish new relationships through networking.
• Gather and analyze loan data to determine overall credit worthiness.
• Assess credit risk and determine appropriate loan structures.
• Manage third party engagements and order searches to complete underwriting.
• Prepare credit memos and present loans for approval per bank policy.
• Manage draw/requisition process and associated documentation.
• Interface with Loan Servicing, auditors, regulators as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and market trends to assess impacts on lending.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
