Job summary

City of Fayetteville, AR seeks a skilled supervisor to oversee crews in streets, sidewalks, trails and drainage projects. You will ensure safety, manage equipment, and coordinate daily tasks with internal customers and city staff.

Role requires a high school diploma or GED, CDL Class A, and ability to operate heavy equipment. You will train staff, prepare reports, and maintain reliable attendance while using timekeeping systems such as NovaTime. Strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license; Class A CDL required or ability to obtain.
• Must obtain Class A CDL within 120 days of hire.
• Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficient with computer software related to timekeeping and work orders (e.g., NovaTime).
• Experience operating heavy equipment (dozer, grader, bobcat, roller, dump truck, etc.).
• Ability to train personnel in construction methods and equipment usage.
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50-100 lbs and working in varied conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide good customer service to internal and external customers and maintain reliable attendance.
• Perform supervisory duties including training staff, planning, assigning, and directing work; address complaints.
• Supervise crew maintaining all equipment and materials used daily.
• Understand shop drawings and plans related to streets, sidewalks, trails and drainage; use transit to shoot and set grade.
• Prepare daily reports recording materials, labor, and equipment for system entry.
• Serve as initial citizen contact at work sites.
• Manage P-card purchases for materials needed to complete tasks.
• Perform other related duties as required.
