Job summary

CRH plc through APAC-Kansas, Inc., Shears Construction, is seeking reliable laborers to support road, utility, and earthwork projects in Kansas. You will assist with digging, material handling, traffic control, and equipment setup while following safety policies.

Candidates must be 18+, pass pre-employment drug screen and background check, have a valid driver’s license, and be willing to travel as needed. High school diploma preferred; prior excavation experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience with excavation equipment is an asset.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Assist with construction and excavation activities across a range of projects, including treatment plants, water, sewer, and storm drain systems.
• Perform general labor duties such as digging, spreading, and leveling materials.
• Signal equipment operators to aid alignment and movement of materials safely.
• Operate small power tools and assist with heavy equipment as needed.
