Job summary

Hoar is seeking a laborer to assist craftspeople on commercial/industrial construction sites. The role involves handling materials, operating basic tools, and helping with site preparation and safety.

Responsibilities include trenching, equipment operation where certified, scaffolding assistance, and maintaining a clean work area. English communication is required; Spanish is a plus. Outdoors-based work with travel between sites may occur.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience in commercial or industrial construction labor.
• Experience operating hand and power tools.
• Strong reading, written and verbal communication in English; Spanish considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools and distribute them to appropriate locations; install or remove signage or hardware.
• Dig trenches or backfill earth to grade specs using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes.
• Operate hand or power tools such as air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small hoists, surveying equipment.
• If certified, operate heavy equipment like a backhoe or bobcat.
• Assist in erecting or dismantling scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, or other temporary structures.
• Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate hazards.
