Job summary

Maine Drilling & Blasting Inc is seeking a Laborer-Constrution to perform job-specific tasks under supervision, with emphasis on safety and learning the drilling and blasting trade. The role involves outdoor work, potential out-of-town travel, and overtime as required.

You will support site operations, learn to handle blasting materials safely, and grow through on-site training and career development opportunities within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with good driving record and own transportation.
• Must pass pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must successfully pass criminal background check for ATF.
• Experience with construction laborer helpful, but not necessary.
• Ability to learn and develop skills to later perform higher level tasks.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Company Safety procedures and policies.
• Submit weekly time cards to Blaster/Foreman with accurate and signed records.
• Learn safety aspects of working construction sites and around explosives.
• Take direction and perform construction laboring activities.
• Work unsupervised occasionally.
• Pump blast holes dry with water pump.
• Load and unload explosives from truck.
• Carry buckets of stemming stone to stem blast holes.
• Maintain clean and organized job site.
• Participate in monthly Foreman, safety and job meetings.
• Participate in daily heads-up safety meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.
