Job summary

Hoar Construction is seeking a Laborer to assist craft workers on commercial or industrial construction sites. You will handle materials, operate tools, and help with scaffolding and site preparation.

Responsibilities include loading materials, digging trenches, operating tools, and maintaining safety on outdoor job sites. English fluency is required; Spanish is a plus. HS diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• 6 months experience as a commercial or industrial construction laborer.
• Experience operating required hand and power tools.
• Strong reading, written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish knowledge is a plus but not required.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, or identify building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing and returning them to the appropriate locations.
• Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, or compact and level earth to grade specifications using hand tools.
• Operate hand or power tools such as air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, or surveying equipment.
• If certified, operate heavy equipment such as backhoe or bobcat.
• Assist in erecting or dismantling scaffolding, shoring, braces, traffic barricades, ramps, or other temporary structures.
• Clean or prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
