Job summary

Job description

Transdev is seeking a dedicated and safety-conscious Construction Track Laborer to support rail infrastructure construction, maintenance, and repair activities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of track systems by assisting with track installation, rehabilitation, inspections, and general labor responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Must be a skilled track laborer.
  • Move and install various track components.
  • Lift, carry, and position rail and other track materials.
  • Perform track construction, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and track maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist with track inspections and identify potential safety concerns.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • This is a skilled position; candidates must be trained and experienced track laborers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid driver's license with a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience.
  • Knowledge and experience using track jacks and other track maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more on a regular basis.
  • Previous railroad track construction, maintenance, or related experience required.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and teamwork.
  • Work schedule is Monday through Friday, with some night and weekend work required.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to sustain alertness and attention during repetitive or tedious tasks.
  • Ability to work outdoors in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy materials and equipment.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, climb, and work on uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to work variable shifts, including nights, weekends, and potentially some holidays.
