Responsibilities

• Perform general construction labor and assist skilled trades as directed.
• Load, unload, move, stage, and organize construction materials and tools.
• Assist with site preparation, installation, assembly, demolition, and other construction activities.
• Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas.
• Keep walkways, access points, and emergency exits clear.
• Properly use, maintain, and store tools and equipment.
• Operate only tools and equipment for which the employee has been trained and authorized.
• Wear required PPE and high-visibility clothing.
• Follow all safety rules, procedures, and supervisor instructions.
• Immediately report injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, and safety concerns.
• Ask questions when instructions or assigned tasks are unclear.
• Work cooperatively with coworkers, supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Perform other construction-related duties as assigned.

Construction Laborer

Position Summary

The Construction Laborer supports Fading West construction activities by performing general labor, material handling, site preparation, cleanup, and other tasks as directed by site management. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, attendance, and following established Fading West policies and procedures. Construction Laborers may work indoors or outdoors and must be willing to perform physically demanding work in varying weather and jobsite conditions.

• Perform general construction labor and assist skilled trades as directed.

Physical Requirements

Employees in this position must be able to:

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, reach, climb, push, and pull.
• Regularly lift and carry construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Safely perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Work on uneven surfaces and around active construction operations.
• Work indoors and outdoors in changing temperatures and weather conditions.
• Use appropriate lifting techniques and request assistance for heavy, awkward, or oversized materials.
• Lift up to 50 lbs independently

Safety Expectations

Safety is a condition of employment at Fading West. Construction Laborers are expected to follow established safety procedures, wear required PPE, participate in safety training, use equipment only when properly trained and authorized, and immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, injuries, and near misses. Employees are expected to stop and ask questions whenever they do not understand how to safely perform an assigned task.
